Northern City Connections

We are excited to offer you the chance to attend Northern City Connections – our FREE day trip to Manchester. This trip offers a unique experience to boost your connections and career prospects, meeting Alumni from Social Sciences and Arts/Humanities subjects now working in a wide range of roles and organisations in the city. It’s a fantastic chance to see what Manchester has to offer and gain insight from those who were once in your shoes – including their top tips for job applications and interviews. Key Information:

• The day is fully funded including all travel 
• Students who identify with at least one of these Equal Opportunities criteria will be prioritised for these trips. We’d be happy to support any requests for adjustments to enable these visits to be as accessible as possible.

• The Equal Opportunities fund is available to help you with items such as professional clothing – see here for details. This round of funding closes on 27 October – you can apply for funding and we’ll liaise with the fund administrators so that they know whether you’ve been offered a place on the visit. 

Key Dates (you’ll be required to attend all three dates): 

Pre-event workshop: Wednesday 19th November 10am-12pm, to meet other students on the trip, and to help you prepare and feel confident for the event.

Manchester Visit Date: Wednesday 26 November – 8am-10pm (exact timings to be confirmed)

Details: During the day we will attend workshops with different businesses based in Manchester, where you will get to hear from our very own Sheffield alumni who now work in these organisations. The day will culminate in an evening drinks event with a chance to meet a range of alumni and develop your networking skills. Post-event workshop: Tuesday 2 December, 10am-11am
