Are you an international student from SUMS or another Social Science department who is curious about, or wanting to do, a Placement Year? Join us for this session to learn how a Placement Year can improve your skills and help your future career!
Based on our research and feedback from previous and current international students, we will discuss some of the common concerns international students face when considering, searching and applying for a Placement Year. Staff from The SUMS and Social Science Employability Team will be present to provide specialised support and solutions to help overcome these concerns and challenges. You’ll also hear from international students who have just returned from their own placements, sharing their tips, insights and experiences.
There will also be an opportunity to ask questions to both Employability Team Staff and the international students who have just returned from their placement during the session!
Still unsure? Just come along and if you decide a Placement Year isn’t the right thing for you by the end of the session, our Employability Team will be able to support you to explore other work experience options after the session!
This event is open to all first and second year international students, across Social Sciences (Architecture and Landscape Architecture Students are not eligible to add a Placement Year to your degree)
