A Career in the Public Sector – using your business skills for public good
Tuesday 25th February at 12pm – 1pm, in The Wave Workroom 3
Finance, management, operations, HR, marketing are all work areas that are needed in local authorities, government departments, schools, NHS and many more. In addition to business skills, public sector organisations are big recruiters of researchers, policy developers, analysts and project managers.
This session will cover some of the main employers and the different routes into working with them. We will also look at how public sector recruitment can differ from the private sector with tips on how to succeed.
For international students we will cover some of the work visa restrictions for certain nationalities and look at organisations that may or may not sponsor.
To increase the number of opportunities available to you it is very much worth looking into public sector careers.
This session is open to all students across Social Sciences. If you have any accessibility or additional support requirements in order to access this session, please let us know by email at mgt.employability@sheffield.ac.uk
